Personal Care

Personal Care; is designed to assist clients with everyday self-care activities that can be provided in combination with homemaker/companion services.

Personal Care is often referred to as Activities of Daily Living or ADLs and includes activities such as

  • Oral Hygiene
  • Grooming
  • Assist with Ambulation
  • Toileting

Home Health Aide

(HHA) tasks are designed to assist individuals with; healthcare tasks, personal hygiene services, and other supportive services essential to a patient’s well being. In certain instances Home Health Aides (HHAs) are qualified to provide more complex services under the supervision of an RN. Your insurance, or Managed Care can cover HHA care, when certain criteria are met.

Home Health Aide tasks include activities such as
  • ADLs- Bathing, Grooming and Dressing
  • Meal Preparation and Nutrition Guidance
  • Medication Compliance Reminders
  • Assistance with Range of Motion Exercises
  • Taking and recording Temperature and Respirations
  • Blood Pressure and Glucose Monitoring
  • Assist with Ambulation and Transfers
  • Special Circumstance tasks under the supervision of an RN (where applicable)

Live-In Service

Live-In Service; is 24 hour daily care that combines client care tasks and night time supervision, enabling individuals to remain in their home. Live-In service is an ideal solution for individuals who are at risk when unattended. Service can be provided on a temporary-respite, short term-recovery, or long-term basis.

Tasks generally include
  • Companionship and Safety Monitoring for Wandering and Falls
  • ADLs- Bathing, Grooming, and Dressing
  • Meal Preparation and Nutritional Guidance
  • Medication Compliance Reminders
  • Escorting out to Medical, Dental, Social, and Grooming Appointments
  • Shopping and Errands (where applicable)
  • Assisting with Ambulation and Transfers
  • Other as determined by Client/Family and Supervising Nurse

Skilled Nursing

Skilled Nursing; refers to professional nursing care. Services can be provide in the home, a facility, and on a visit or hourly basis. The decision to use an RN or LPN is dependent on the type of services required and must be consistent with scope of nursing practice under applicable state licensure regulations. Services may be covered by your insurance carrier, or Managed Care, when certain criteria are met. Florida Home Care does accept payment from Commercial Insurance for Skilled Nursing in select markets.

IV Infusion

IV Infusion;   is the intravenous administration of therapeutics, analgesics, antibiotics, chemotherapy and parental nutrition outside a formal healthcare environment such as a hospital, out-patient clinic, or MD office.  IV infusion services can be provided on a visit or hourly basis.  Insurance companies and Managed Care Organizations often stipulate a client/family member must assume responsibility for infusing IV therapies as a condition of discharged from a facility. Clients and families may alternately decide to directly pay a home Skilled Nursing Provider to infuse and manage the IV therapy on their behalf.

Dementia Care

Registered or Licensed Practical Nurses provide skilled care, and Certified Home Health Aides provide non-skilled care under the supervision of an RN. The agency does accept payment from Medicaid and Commercial Insurance for Pediatric care in select markets.
